South Eastern Section
News
The ION South Eastern Section was approved by the ION Council on January 27, 2008. The section includes nearly 80 members spanning five
states and two time zones. See a map of this Section along with the locations of ION members.
The South Eastern Section will be co-hosting (along with the Dayton Section) the 1st Annual Mini-Urban Challenge during the 2008-2009 school year.
The purpose of the competition is to challenge high school students to design and operate a robotic unmanned car built from a LEGO MINDSTORMS® kit than
can accurately navigate through a LEGO® city. For the first year of the competition, regional competitions will be held
in Florida and Ohio with regional winners moving on to a national competition to be held in conjuntion with the 6th Annual Robotic Lawnmower Competition
in Dayton.
